About the Event

Michigan Solar Home Tour   --   Saturday, October 3, 2020

Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA) and American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES) is pleased to announce the 2020 Solar Home Tour on Saturday October 3, 2020 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Traditionally we have organized 'open houses' where people interersted in solar would visit a home with solar and the homeowner or solar contractor would explain the energy system and answer questions.  But this year because of COVID-19 GLREA will be doing this Event 'on-line' with Zoom.

Beginning at 10:00 am, we will be show-casing a different solar system at a home or business every 15 minutes. The homeowner or solar contractor will explain the system with photo's, video or by walking around with their smart phone and then they will answer any questions.  Viewers can watch the entire event or just a portion. The following is the Schedule:

10:00 am               Dave Strenski, SolarYpsi, will show time lapse and aerial videos of solar installations in Ypsilanti.

10:15 am               Ken Zebarah, Harvest Solar, will showcase farm solar projects which Harvest Solar specializes in.

10:30 am               Mark Clevey, GLREA Board Vice-Chair will talk about his rooftop solar system in Ann Arbor.
