About the Event

The Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA) holds an Annual Year End - Year Begin Membership Meeting to celebrate the work we did this year and to plan for next year.  This is our 32nd year of educating and advocating in support of renewable energy in Michigan.  We have a lot to be proud of!  We see consistent growth in the number of homeowners and business installing solar and geothermal energy systems.  We also see the impact we are having with the utilities accelerating their closing of coal plants and developing greater amounts of solar and wind energy.

Our theme this year is Looking to the Future of Renewable Energy.  We chose this theme because we see three trends that are growing in significance.  First, is the continued growth of solar, wind and geothermal energy and the increase public support for this expansion.  Second, is the growing consensus that we need to ‘electrify’ transportation and for heating our homes and offices using renewable energy.  Third, is the increasing impact of Climate Change on our lives.  The question that GLREA wants to pose is, what is our role in responding to these trends.

Our speakers will address these trends and the challenges that have in addressing them.  We will also discuss the role that GLREA should have in supporting the transition to renewable energy from fossil fuels.

Thanks for joining us on December 2, for our 2023 Year End Year Begin Membership Meeting.  GLREA wants to thank its Members and Sponsors for supporting this organization and this work.  We are successful because we all understand the need to work together to bring about this fundamental change on how we produce and utilize energy that won't harm our world!
