Solarize newsletter - May edition
Hello everyone! Here is the May 2026 edition of the Solarize newsletter — where we update GLREA members on the progress made with the program and upcoming goals. In case you would like a refresher on how the GLREA Solarize program works, check out this updated overview!
We have one Solarize program coming up this month:
Oakland County Event 3 - Rochester: May 28th
6-8pm at Rochester Mills Beer Co

Summer Events - Stay tuned for dates to be announced!
Washtenaw Event 2 (Saline)
Grand Rapids
Oakland County Event 4 (Rochester)
Ingham County
Wayne County Event 1: April 28th
GLREA worked closely with the Wayne County Sustainability team, the Detroit 2030 District, and the Greenleaf commission, to initiate a new Solarize series for Wayne County! The program kicked off in April with a meeting at the Rosedale Gardens Church in Livonia, featuring Srinergy as the installer. We had 25 participants.
Oakland County Event 2: April 29th
We also held another successful Oakland County Solarize at the Novi public library, with Srinergy as the installer as well. Thanks to the support of the Oakland County Sustainability Office and Board of Commissioners, as well as the Detroit 2030 District, we had over 30 attendees encompassing residents, businesses, nonprofits, places of worship, and local governments.
The success of Solarize is built upon having a thriving renewable energy community throughout the state - which includes you all! Please help us continue making solar a more accessible energy option by telling friends, family, and community members about upcoming Solarize events.
